Loft Home Cinema, Sunningdale, Berkshire
Turning an unused loft into the ultimate home cinema and entertainment lounge was the goal for this bespoke project. The client wanted a space that combined a top-notch home cinema all while keeping things luxurious and stylish.
The original loft was bright and open with sloped ceilings, which made acoustics and light control a bit tricky. We started with detailed planning to get the layout just right. Acoustic treatments were added to the walls and ceiling to create immersive sound. For lighting, we designed a system that set the perfect mood, including LED strip lights around the edges and a fiber optic star ceiling for an eye-catching effect.
We installed a 4K projector and an acoustically transparent screen to deliver cinema-quality visuals. For sound, a high-end Dolby Atmos with in-wall and in-ceiling speakers was carefully fine-tuned for that authentic cinema vibe. Smart home automation was integrated throughout, making it easy to control lighting, sound, and visuals with an app or remote.
To keep things cozy, we designed custom seating with oversized plush sofas, perfect for movie nights or gaming marathons. Behind the main seating area, we added a sleek bar with high stools, creating a secondary viewing spot and a cool social hangout. A pool table nearby completed the setup, turning the space into a full-on entertainment hub.
The design leaned into a dark, moody colour scheme with grey acoustic wall panels and soft carpeting to reduce light reflection and create a cozy atmosphere. At the back of the room, we updated the existing small kitchenette with a mini-fridge and sink, so snacks and drinks were always within reach without disturbing the fun.
The end result was a stunning, functional space. Whether it’s watching the latest blockbuster, diving into a gaming session, or hosting friends for a laid-back evening, this home cinema perfectly balances cutting-edge technology with sleek design.
